ESS shemeIntersolar Europe, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, took place in Munich from June 22–24. Parallel to Intersolar, ees Europe, the continent’s largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems took place.  Systems for storing energy attracted again a lot of attention offering system solutions and compatible components. From the point of view of the residential and non-residential end-customers, storage will continue to play a growing role. Overview and management of stored energy is an integral part of all advanced solutions. Electric vehicles will be also part of the power grid of the future, both as consumers of the energy and as storage devices.

The finalists of ees Award 2016 show clearly the trends: wireless interfaces are gaining in importance in the energy storage industry; the flexibility and diverse fields of application are visible in creating solutions; the products cover both on and off-grid solutions;  both low-voltage (48V DC) and high voltage systems (400V DC); the solutions combine photovoltaics and wind power.

G-Solar ESS containerBeside the photovoltaic modules and supporting equipment, G-Solar offers medium energy storage systems, both for household PV on/off-grid systems and distributed micro-grid systems. Also, the large 1MW storage systems for bigger consumers are designed to reduce losses in power transmission, to enhance the lifespan of power lines and equipment, to improve the safety and stability of power grid and energy supply.
